Fifteen-year-old mom who put her baby up for adoption 35 years later has her son standing…

When she was only a teenager, Stacey Faix became pregnant. At 15 years old, she was still a child herself, and that’s the reason why as soon as she gave birth to her son, Stacey decided to place her newborn for adoption.

He was taken away right after she gave birth, and she was set to never see him again, or at least that’s what she thought.

In Pennsylvania, in November 2017, a new law was passed. That law allowed adoptees to access their original birth certificate. Of course that this was more than good news for Stephen Strawn, who is an adoptee himself.

As soon as Strawn learned of the new law, he immediately knew that he wanted his information. He had his birth certificate in his hands in less than a month, with details that were previously lost included.

This is what he said for Inside Adition after he learned his biological mother’s name: “It was a big sigh of relief”.

He decided to search for the name Stacey Faix on Facebook. In a short time, Strawn was able to find her or at least someone he thought might be her.

“I sent her a message and said, ‘Hey, I have a really weird question,’” Strawn said. “I asked, ‘Did you put a baby boy up for adoption in 1982?’ She answerd, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘I think you may be my biological mom.’”

Then, it turned out that Faix had previously attempted to find her son but sadly, her attempts were unsuccessful. Both Faix and Strawn discovered that they had a lot things in common, despite the fact they had not seen or spoken to each other in around 35 years.

Faix lived in Ohio, but she was planning on running in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon as a member of Team Red, White and Blue (RWB). Strawn was also a member of that organization in Pennsylvania, where he lived and he was also going to participate in that same race.

Strawn devised a great plan that would take place on race day.

When the members of Team RWB were gathering before the race Faix was handed card. That card read, “It’s been 13,075 days since you last saw me. I didn’t want you wait one more day.”

She was more than shocked.

“We must have hugged about 10 different times,” Strawn said. “We get done hugging, look at each other and then hug again. It just felt really surreal that it was finally happening because it happened so fast.”

Probably catching up on all the time they’ve both missed out on, the mother and son duo completed the marathon as a team.
